Perfume

This was my perfume bottle, composition 5 perfume. I was done in acrylic and painted onto matte board. The bottle was painted on bristol board and glued down. and the paint splatter was done after experimentation in my alt. book. the letters were done ion bristol board also and were glued down with paint splatter on them to make it look like they have perfume sprayed on them also.

Wedding

This was my composition 4 wedding. I was mostly done in acrylic and found papers. Painted on bristol board and glued onto matte board.

Blinded

This was the unnecessary page that i did. I redid another one of my previous pages, blinded, because i really liked it the first time. it is done in acrylic and the girl is cut off of found paper and the back ground behind her it purple paper glued down.

Perfume Spray

The is my altered book, the one where we had to redo a previous page. i redid my other perfume page. It is done in acrylic and the perfume bottle was painted on bristol board and glued down. then paint was splattered down to make it look like the bottle is spraying perfume.

Literature

The is my altered book page of literature. i drew stacks of books at different angles in charcoal.

Clock

This is my clock. its done in t-shirt paint, and acrylic.

DREAMS

This is an all text comp. of the word dreams. they were painted on different paper and glued down with modg-podg with supporting black lines and blue string giving a supporting line.

Cardiology

This is a drawing of a heart showing the different sides. It has text that writes different words that relate to the heart and the anatomy and physiology of the heart. The heart is drawn in primacolor.

Telephone

These are image transfers of different telephones going up a time line threw the ages of the telephone. The rip in the middle was accidental but i liked how it turned out so i left it that was.

Rose Water

This again not a favorite. It is a drawing of a perfume bottle in light pink and has different words for perfume to the side.

Bicycle

This is NOT my favorite alt. book page so far. but it is a drawing of a bicycle (old), with the words the bicycle and since 1817 written in it.

Blinded

"The minute i heard my first love story i started looking for you not knowing how blind that was. Lovers don't finally meet somewhere, they're in each other all along."
This is a charcoal drawing of a man and a woman looking at each other, i didn't draw in the eyes because i wanted it to symbolize how blind they are.

keys

this is my first independent. it started out as three peices but ended as four. i started with panting all the flowers different shades of burgundy and purple. and then i did the keys different shades of browns with a txt box behind them. and then the key hole in the middle.

Photography

This is an acrylic mixed with impasto to give it texture. I did it on three different cameras using warm colors of pink orange yellow and red.

L.O.V.E

The is a piece inspired by Rauschenberg. WE call in Assemblage. Mine is a combination of found objects and papers. with stamps of acrylic paint layered.

Glass Flowers

This is an image transfer on the back of glass painted over to show the colors threw the glass.

Politics

This was the prompt of politics and i did the idea that everyone in politic points fingers at each other and fight all the time. i did an image transfer of to fingers pointing and then did the 'pow' and 'boom' with paper crickled up after being painted and covered in a brown watered down wash.

The ties that bind...

This was the second altered book page. the thing was to do something to do with the word together. so i did the ties that bind us together. ints done in acrylic.

Beringer

This is a charcaol drawing of a baringer bottle. the bottle is highlightes with purple primacolor.

beaty and the beast

This was the first altered book of a tribute to a fictional caracter and i did belle from beaty and the beast because it is my favorite disney fairy tale.

Clock

this is a drawing in charcoal pencil of a close up on a grandfather clock. The clock was done with gold leaf around the numbers and with the hands of the clock being the object to show movement.

Nothing left

I did the plate after i was eating in oil pastel. theres nothing left because i have pizza and i eat the crust. i did it on white bristol board. the paper is 9 1/4 by 7 1/2.

the cookie jar

i did the draw something in a cabinate prompt and i did i cookie jar the was in one of our old cabinates with my parents old wedding glasses. i used charcoal after a failed attempt of prismacolor.

the closet

this is te closet prompt. i did our empty upstairs closet because i like the cady cornered shelfs. i used oil pastel on black paper.

Rutledge building

this is done by image transfer of the rutledge building at winthrop.

what the hand beholds

i miss read the prompt when doing this i had several ideas in mind and i didnt do a hand under stress. but i did draw a hand with a lot of lines and folds. if there to be something i would change it would be the paper because i dont think it was the best choice the texture feels wrong. but other than this i like it.

Close-up

This is a painting i did of foreshortening. The picture drawn from is of Sarah Bush holding a FM10 Nikon 35mm (film) camera. It is painted using acrylic.

still life

This is a drawing of a still life of some of my moms stuff. Its got a vase leafs, a picture of a plum, and a globe. It was drawn in prismacolor.

one special night

This is a collage inspired by Derek Gores. But different from what he does i took it to a different level and did the collage out of dried paint chips. it tok mea little longer but i really like the turn out.

seeing through the key hole

This is the alter book of a drawing of an eye. i liked the idea of the eye looking through a key hole.

what's in your pocket?

this is the altered book of "what's in your pocket?" i never really have anything other than my phone in my pocket. so i took my old cell phone that was already broken in half and smashed it with a hammer a little more to break it apart and made it into a monochromatic piece.

image transfer

this was the altered book of image tranfer i took it as practice for the Peter max piece.

guitar

this was the altered book for music theory. i took it a little further and cut out the page into the shape of a guitar and put music notes as the guitars color.

lily

for this piece i took a light pink background and image tranfered a picture of me looking down and added paintings of lilies with bright colors and black and white highlights

The Golden Flower

When we were first drawing these people on paper i was't to excited about the project but after cutting them out and tracing them onto the bristol board i began to really like the ideas in my head. This piece turned out exactly how i pictured and i really like the color choice. The gold lief was a bit of a struggle at first but it came out good. I wanted the focus to on the glod flower in the middle swo i got the characters to all be looking at it from different agles.
The boarder took a lot of detail in time but the designs worked great for tying the whole piece together.

masquerade ball

For this prompt we had to do formal wear. i did mine arund the idea of a masquerade ball. I did it that way because i like the dresses and the masks people would wear to such a ball. I like the color choice because it worked out well with the prompt.

the powder room

For this page in the altered book our prompt was to do our bathroom counter. I took the most common designs in my bathroom such as the soap despensor and the toothbrush holder and recreated there designs. i took the way we painted the walls and changed them. i also took the shower and put water coming out of the showerhead.

gears in motion

this was the first page we did in our altered books, the prompt was to creat a page resembleing parts of a machine. with that in mind i created mine around a clock with gears.

spring time on the lily farm

These are photographs i took at this lily farm that i go to with my mom every year. They have all kinds of lilies and it great, they have all kinds of different colored lilies. thee are a few of my favorites.

time in town square

This is a painting of a photograph i took in greer, South Carolina. The thing i like the most are the different shades of warm colors expressed by the reds, oranges, and yellows. I look at this painting and see how bright it is and it draws my attention to different parts every time.
