i miss read the prompt when doing this i had several ideas in mind and i didnt do a hand under stress. but i did draw a hand with a lot of lines and folds. if there to be something i would change it would be the paper because i dont think it was the best choice the texture feels wrong. but other than this i like it.
Nicole,
ReplyDeleteGreat job disciplining yourself and posting on time. Hopefully you are having fun being creative. No need to worry too much about the prompt as long as it fits. After we create a bunch breadth pieces, I'll actually want you to go 100% in your own direction (within the portfolio requirements).
This is a demonstration of your ability to create form using a range of values. Hands a very difficult (even for accomplished artists) to render convincingly and you did it.
A couple of suggestions for your next piece: 1) increase the contrast-- though there are no laws in art, increasing the contrast usually yields more depth and form, 2) your composition is very good in that it is focused without distractions; however, see if you can create more of a dynamic composition by moving the focal point away from dead center, then counter-balance.
I'm impressed with both of you. Keep it up!
Ohh.... and consider taking advantage of the texture. This element of the drawing offers, what I refer to as, a human quality-- a quality that tell the story of your creative process.
ReplyDeleteim so used to seeing designs in this class. its refreshing to see a actual drawing.
